Tips and covering fees at checkout

Most producers on TicketPill are independent creators with minimal financial backing. At checkout you have two options to put more money into the hands of those producers: add a tip and cover the ticketing fees.

Add a tip

Once you select your tickets, enter any amount in the Add a tip field to further support the producer.

TicketPill takes no cut of your tip - our 2.5% fee applies only to the items in your order. (Stripe's payment processing fee still applies to the whole payment, tip included.)

Cover the fees

Tick the Cover fees box in the order summary to pay for the fees yourself, so the producer keeps the full ticket price. This covers two fees:

• A TicketPill service fee (2.5% of the ticket price).
• Stripe's payment processing fee (typically 2.9% + .30 per order).

Because Stripe's fee applies to the whole payment, covering the fees adds a small amount of processing on the fees themselves. The order summary shows the exact total before you pay.

You'll only see this option when the producer has chosen to pay the fees. It won't appear when the event already charges fees to buyers, or when your order is free or comes to $0.
