Terms of Service

Who We Are

TicketPill is an independent ticketing platform built for community event producers, especially those working in indie, queer, and underground event spaces. We provide the infrastructure for producers to sell tickets and for buyers to attend events they care about.

TicketPill is a program of Sugarpill LLC ("we," "us," "our"), based in Portland, Oregon. By using TicketPill, whether to buy tickets or sell them, you agree to these terms.

Definitions

  • Platform means TicketPill's website, tools, and services at ticketpill.com.
  • Producer means a person or organization that uses TicketPill to list and sell tickets to events.
  • Buyer means a person who purchases a ticket through TicketPill.
  • Event means a ticketed experience listed on the Platform by a Producer.

For Buyers

What You're Purchasing

When you buy a ticket through TicketPill, you're purchasing access to an event organized by an independent Producer. TicketPill facilitates the transaction; the event itself (lineup, venue, safety, and execution) is the Producer's responsibility.

Age

Buyers must be 18 or older, or 16 to 17 years old with direct parental supervision. By purchasing, you confirm that you meet any age restrictions posted for the specific event, and that your attendance complies with applicable local law. It is your responsibility to know the age requirements of events you purchase tickets for.

Refunds

Most tickets sold through TicketPill are non-refundable. Producers may grant refund exceptions at their discretion. If you believe your situation warrants one, contact the Producer directly to request it.

If you believe you're entitled to a refund, contact us at support@ticketpill.com before filing a dispute with your bank or card issuer. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may be considered dispute abuse. We take that seriously, and it may result in your exclusion from the platform.

Admission

Your ticket gives you the right to request entry. Producers set their own door policies and may decline admission based on their own criteria, including behavior, eligibility, or compliance with event-specific rules. TicketPill is not responsible for a Producer's admission decisions.

Your Ticket

Your ticket is for your personal use. Do not resell, transfer, or use it for commercial gain unless the Producer has explicitly said that's okay.

For Producers

Your Events

You are responsible for the events you list on TicketPill. That includes:

Running your event. You are required to hold the event as listed and make it accessible to ticket holders. Your door policies govern individual admission decisions, but having a door policy is not a substitute for running the event. Selling tickets and then not showing up, or closing the door arbitrarily, is not acceptable.
Accuracy. Your event listing must accurately represent the event: lineup, venue, date, time, age restrictions, and any other material details. If something changes, update your listing promptly and notify your buyers.
Legal compliance. You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws, including fire codes, capacity limits, alcohol licensing, noise ordinances, and any other local requirements.
Age restrictions. Clearly label any age restrictions on your event listing.
Venue rights. You must have the legal right to use your venue for the event you're listing.

Door Policies

You have the right to set and enforce your own admission policies, including declining entry based on behavior, eligibility, or event-specific requirements. You are responsible for exercising that right in accordance with applicable law.

Fees

TicketPill charges a platform fee on each transaction, plus Stripe's payment processing fee passed through at cost. The exact fee breakdown is shown before you publish any event. TicketPill waives its platform fee on tips.

Refunds and Processing Fees

When a refund is issued, Stripe does not return the payment processing fee. Depending on the transaction and how fees are configured, this may mean that issuing a refund costs the Producer money.

Payouts

Payouts go through Stripe Connect. You must complete Stripe's verification process before receiving payouts. TicketPill is not responsible for delays caused by Stripe's onboarding or verification timeline.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Creating a new account to circumvent a moderation or policy decision is grounds for permanent exclusion from the platform.

Acceptable Use

What's Not Allowed

The following are prohibited on TicketPill, for both Producers and Buyers:

Events and content that:

  • Are illegal or designed to facilitate illegal activity
  • Promote or incite hatred, discrimination, or violence based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, or other protected characteristics
  • Misrepresent the nature, lineup, venue, date, or any other material aspect of an event
  • Are designed to target, harass, or harm a specific person or group
  • Use a venue without authorization

Account behavior that:

  • Impersonates another person or organization
  • Creates a new account to work around a suspension, ban, or moderation decision
  • Attempts to manipulate or abuse the platform's reporting, review, or dispute systems

A Note on Content

Event listings, descriptions, images, and other content on TicketPill are created by independent Producers. That content does not reflect the views of TicketPill or Sugarpill LLC, and we are not responsible for it beyond our applicable legal obligations. If you see something that violates these terms, use the report button or contact us at support@ticketpill.com.

TicketPill's Rights

We reserve the right to:

  • Remove events or content that violate these terms or that we determine, in our reasonable judgment, are harmful to the platform or its community
  • Suspend or terminate Producer accounts for violations of these terms
  • Decline to process transactions or provide service where we have reason to believe these terms are being violated

Where practical, we will give you a chance to address an issue before we act on it.

Limitation of Liability

TicketPill connects Producers and Buyers. We are not the organizer of any event listed on the Platform, and we are not responsible for what happens at those events.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sugarpill LLC's total liability in connection with any transaction is limited to the platform fees collected on that transaction.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. If the changes are material, we will give you notice. Continuing to use the Platform after updated terms are posted means you accept them.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Multnomah County, Oregon.
