Email ticketholders from the Messages tab

Last updated: July 6, 2026

To reach everyone who bought a ticket, send an email from the Messages tab on the Producer dashboard.

Use messages to share important day-of logistics, schedule changes, reminders, or post-show thank-yous.

Send a message

  1. Under Recipients, select All ticketholders or a single ticket type. The count next to each shows how many people will receive it.
  2. Enter a subject line. Your event title is added to the subject automatically.
  3. Write your message.
  4. Select Preview to see exactly how the email will look, then Continue to send.

Messages come from updates@ticketpill.com, and replies go to your email address.

Who receives your message

Everyone who bought a valid ticket gets your message, minus anyone who unsubscribed from your updates. Unsubscribing only stops these update emails - it never affects their ticket or receipt, but you can't message or email a person who has unsubscribed. Every email carries a unique unsubscribe link and TicketPill's mailing address, which the law requires.

Message limits - before and after your event

You can send an unlimited number of messages before your event. Once it ends, you get one post-event wrap-up message, and you have 7 days from the end of the event to send it.

After that, or after you've used your one wrap-up, the Messages tab closes for that event.

Message dos and don'ts

The email inbox is a personal and sensitive place - so please treat it with respect and follow these guidelines:

Do:

  • Try to limit the number of messages you send. Ticketholders will start to tune you out if you send too many emails, and may mark your messages as spam.
  • Share important information your ticketholders need to know. How to check in, what to expect, house rules, etc - that's what this tool is for!
  • Keep your event-related emails within the TicketPill messages feature. If you dump email addresses from TicketPill into a third-party tool, your unsubscribe list won't update between the two - risking an out-of-date list and sending unwanted emails (tacky and sometimes illegal).

Don't:

  • Overdo it with daily/weekly messages.
  • Sell, rent, or give access to the Messages feature to third parties. A blurb about an event sponsor in a larger email is okay - a fully-sponsored email irrelevant to your event isn't.
  • Use a third party email tool to get around these rules. You're still beholden to laws and regulations around email use, even outside of TicketPill.

To protect the integrity of our community, TicketPill may remove your access to Messages or the TicketPill platform altogether if we determine you may have abused this tool.
